Today was the last day of our trip. It was fun, but we were ready to go home.
We slept in at the hotel, packed up, and then went out for lunch. After lunch, we went to Burlington Coat Factory where I got a dress and a jumpsuit. Then, we drove to Grand Forks.
In Grand Forks, we were going to shop at the mall and then go out for supper, but we were pretty tired after only a little bit of shopping (I got three new pairs of shoes for really cheap) so we decided to pick up subs and just drive home.
In the evening, we unpacked and then went to Grandma and Grandpa Reimer’s for night snack (Auntie Deena and the boys were there too).
Overall, it was an amazing trip, and I hope I get to go back in two years time again!
Breakfast: none
Lunch: Chili’s (in Fargo) - mini hamburgers, fries, chips, coke
Supper: Jimmy John’s (at home) - Slim 5, water

Orlando, Florida (2018): Day Eighteen
Today was a travel day. We woke up at 6 AM to fly to Minneapolis (about a 3 hour flight). The plane had a “problem with the toilet” so we were delayed about an hour, which wasn’t ideal because I had already taken my gravol (you’re supposed to take it an hour ahead of time) so I had to struggle to keep myself awake until I got the plane (my family said it looked really funny). Needless to say, I fell asleep before the safety presentation even started.
Once we landed, we got our luggage and took the hotel shuttle back to where we had our van parked. We drove to Pizza Ranch for lunch and then headed out for the 3 hour drive to Fargo. Once we got there, we checked into our hotel, got changed, and then went out for supper.
After supper, we came back to the hotel to relax for the evening. Around 10 PM, me, Dad and the rest of the kids went to get McFlurries from McDonalds.
I’m sad to go home tomorrow, but I’m glad we can “ease our way” back into going home.
Breakfast: At the house, then at the airport - banana, then chocolate chip banana muffin
Lunch: Pizza Ranch (Minneapolis) - pizza, dessert pizza, root beer, root beer float, fries
Supper: Longhorn’s Steakhouse (Fargo) - steak, fries, caesar salad, pepsi, bread

Orlando, Florida (2018): Day Seventeen
Today was our last day in Florida. It was a little sad, especially bwcaUe I don’t know what I’m doing in two years from now, but we still enjoyed our last day.
In the morning, we went to Epcot. We rode Soarin’, Test Track (single rider line - the family with me and Jacob let us sit together!), Space Ship Earth and Living with the Land. We also walked halfway through the World Showcase, and watched the Voices of Liberty (a different group of singers with a different set of songs (different from last time)) which was really amazing!
In the afternoon, we relaxed by the pool and swam. Sophia, Jacob and I came close to breaking our record for Keep it Up bud couldn’t quite do it.
In the evening, we went out for supper and then came back to the house to pack up. I always get worried that we won’t have enough room in our suitcases, or that I’ll forget something, but so far so good.
We still have a travel day tomorrow and then a night in Fargo, so we aren’t quite finished yet!
Breakfast: At the house - toast with jam, orange juice
Lunch: Jimmy John’s (at the house) - Slim 5, chips, diet pepsi, oranges
Supper: Cracker Barrel - pancakes, sausage links, eggs, chocolate milk

Orlando, Florida (2018): Day Sixteen
Today Dad and Olivia went to Universal for Olivia’s birthday present to see the Harry Potter world. While they were there, me, Mom, Sophia and Jacob slept in, and then walked just under an hour to Chick-Fil-A for lunch. It was really hot and we felt really sweaty and gross when we got there, but it also felt really good when we were done. Dad and Olivia ate there as well, and then drove us all back to the house.
In the afternoon, we relaxed by the pool and swam. Sophia and I broke the Kerp It Up record - 208!!
In the evening, we went out for supper and then went to the Outlets. I got two new sweaters, a flannel, a pair of jean shorts and a pair of jeans. My favourite (and only) Sunday shoes are on their last threads so we looked for new shoes but couldn’t find any good ones. I might leave the shoes here when we go home because they’re just too broken.
Breakfast: At the house - banana
Lunch: Chick-Fil-A - chicken burger, fries, pepsi
Supper: Macaroni Grill - pepperoni pizza, pasta, coke, fries, bread

Orlando, Florida (2018): Day Fifteen
Today we went to Animal Kingdom. We got there reeeeally early (7 AM!!!) and didn’t have to wait as long for Flights of Passage (about 30 minutes) which is one of my favourite rides. After that, we went on the Na’vi River Ride, and then the safari ride.
In the afternoon, we swam and relaxed by the pool.
In the evening, we went to Downtown Disney after supper, and then brought back Krispy Kreme to the house to eat while watching HGTV.
Breakfast: At the house - toast with jam, orange juice
Lunch: McDoanld’s (at the house) - McChicken (from the $1 menu), fries, pepsi (Jacob’s birthday present to me), brownie from Charley’s
Supper: On the Border - tacos, mexican rice, coke

Orlando, Florida (2018): Day Fourteen
It was a sad goodbye last night to Auntie Deena; Dad drove her to the airport early this morning. I really loved having her with us, and I hope she can come again sometime.
Today was a relaxing “day off”. The rest of us (other than Dad) slept in, and then when Dad got back we went mini golfing at the Winter Land gemini golf course at Blizzard Beach. I played really well, which was resllt surprising! I got mostly 2s and 3s (strokes) but had one “normal” hole where I got 10 strokes but maxed out at 8. In the end, I lost by one point to Dad and Sophia! I was resllt proud of myself! I even got four hole-in-ones! I could tell my “luck” bothered Dad and Sophia because I played better than them for most of the game.
In the afternoon, we sat by the pool, even though it was a bit chilly and rainy outside. Also, Dad messed up our lunch orders and got me a sub with tuna in it. Mom let me have hers but I think we will be having Jimmy John’s again soon for her.
In the evening, we went for supper and then shopped at the outlets.
Breakfast: At the house - oatmeal, leftover bun from Texas Roadhouse
Lunch: Jimmy John’s (at the house) - Slim 5, chips, root beer (Jacob’s birthday gift to me)
Supper: Carrabba’s - pasta with butter and cheese, bread, root beer, caesar salad

Orlando, Florida (2018): Day Thirteen
Today was my 17th birthday!!
Dad gave me a “special glass” (a wine glass) for my orange juice this morning, and Auntie Deena played “Dancing Queen” as I walked into the kitchen. Also, my sunburn hurt a lot less today, though it still hurt.
We went to Hollywood Studios today, and rode Tower of Terror twice in a row, followed by Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster. We also walked around the park a bit. I got a birthday pin and Auntir Deena got a “first visiter” pin. Dad also bought me a Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal for my birthday, which was followed by Sophia and Olivia getting their own (Tigger and Piglet) for their “birthdays”.
In the afternoon, we lay by the pool and relaxed. Me, Sophia, Olivia, Jacob and Auntie Deena stayed in the pool for most of the afternoon (it felt good on the sunburns). I received a lot of loving birthday messages today which was really nice!
In the evening, we went out for supper, and then to Target. We were only planning on getting Aloe lotion and Benadryl spray (for the sunburns), but me, Auntie Deena and Mom ended up shopping for some clothes too! I got a really nice dress and a pair of Mickey PJ pants.
Overall, this was a resllt great day, and a resllt great birthday! The only downer was that this was Auntie Deena’s last day. But we had a great time with her here!

Orlando, Florida (2018): Day Twelve
Today was the only day we went to the beach. We went to Clearwater. I got sand everywhere and very very burnt (the worst sunburn i’ve ever had). Needless to say, I was not a fan.
In the evening, we went for supper and to the Orlando Eye.
Breakfast: At the house - toast with jam, orange juice
Lunch: Snacks at the beach - chips, licorice
Supper: Charley’s Steakhouse - steak, mashed potatoes, pepsi, gaelic cheese buns

Orlando, Florida (2018): Day Eleven
Today we went to Animal Kingdom. We haven’t been there in about eight years so it was kind of a new experience! The park opened an hour earlier than the others (8AM rather than 9AM) but we learned later that the park “unofficially” opens at 7AM! So we went straight to the Flights of Passage ride but waited an hour and a half because we were there an hour later than everyone else! It was worth the wait though, it was like a more intense version of Soarin’! After that, we went on the Safari ride, and then used our fastpasses on the Kali River Rapids. Everyone except me and Jacob went on Expedition Everest to end the day.
In the afternoon, we picked up lunch and relaxed by the pool.
In the evening, we went for supper and then to the outlets. Then we came back to the house and had ice cream sundaes.

Orlando, Florida (2018): Day Ten
Today’s park was Hollywood Studios. Me, Sophia, Olivia, Dad and Auntie Deena went straight to Tower of Terror and for on pretty quickly, then waited about 20 minutes in the single-rider line on Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster, then waited an hoe and a half for Tower of Terror again (not our best decision) before meeting up with Mom and Jacob (who had been at the Toy Story ride) for the Indiana Jones show which was great! We had some Disney revels while watching. The park was a level 10 on business, so it was packed today!
In the afternoon, we picked up lunch and came back to the house to relax by the pool. Me and the siblings came up with a game to play in the pool called KIU (pronounced like Ky-you and stands for Keep It Up) which is really fun.
In the evening, we went to Disney Springs (I still like to call it Downtown Disney) for supper and shopping. I got all my souveneirs for my friends, a mug for myself (I want to get a mug for every place I visit), and a grad gift for my friend (Mickey dressed in a Gard outfit). It was a good time, but my feet still hurt a lot (Auntie Deena even gave me a foot massage by the pool!)
Breakfast: At the house - toast with jam, orange juice
Lunch: Chick-Fil-A (at the house) - chicken burger, chips, root beer, orange, two fries
Supper: Splitsville - pepperoni pizza, root beer

Orlando, Florida (2018): Day Nine
Today we did our first ever “open and shut down the park”!! Not everyone participated, it was only me, Sophia, Mom and Auntie Deena. But it was such a great experience! We did this at Epcot. First, we went straight to Soarin’ (this is always my least favourite part of the day - speed walking super fast to the first ride in order to get on before everyone else), then Living with the Land, then the single-rider line at Test Track (a longer wait than last time - 40 min), then used our fastpasses at Finding Nemo (this is where Olivia realized she left her phone at the picture area in Test Track, so Dad and her went back to get it after Finding Nemo), then used our fastpasses at Spaceship Earth (except the fastpass line took about half an hour, this is where my feet started to hurt), and then Dad, Olivia and Jacob left the park.
Mom, Auntie Deena, Sophia and I spent the rest of the day together. We first went across the World Showcase river on a boat to get to the American pavilion to get turkey legs for lunch (they were resllt good, but I’ve had my share of turkey for a loooong time now). It started raining so we ate them inside a dining area. Then, we went to the World Showplace Events Pavillion to watch AFV top two videos of the year, and to vote on which one was the best (the winning family will win a vacation to Disney) and got free t-shirts there. Then, we walked around the World Showcase. We watched a show in Canada, the Voices of Liberty in America (I tried talking to one of the singers after but I couldn’t think of what to say so it ended up being a bit awkward), a show in France where a guy balanced on chairs, had slushies in Africa, and rode the Donald Duck fiesta ride in Mexico. Throughout the day we took a lot of pictures, and played “1,2,3, He’s Yours” amongst ourselves. We also waited in a 75 minute line for Soarin’ again.
In the evening, Dad, Olivia and Jacob joined us to watch the fireworks. We got good seats at a table in Africa. I was so thankful because my feet had been hurting badly all day. I think I’ll be wearing runners tomorrow! We got Mickey Pretzels for “supper”, and some drinks from Starbucks.
Walking out of the park, some guys around me and Sophia’s ages, were sitting together and one of them said to us “hey, I just wanted to say you guys look beautiful, and I hope you have a wonderful night”. I responded with “hey, you too!”. I thought I should write that because it was a nice way to end the day.
I went to Target with Dad when we got home, and then we had ice cream sundaes while watching HGTV before bed.
Breakfast: At the house - toast with jam, orange juice
Lunch: Fife and Drum (at Disney) - turkey leg, coke
Supper: A food cart at Disney - Mickey pretzel, coke

Orlando, Florida (2018): Day Eight
Today was Auntie Deena’s first day at the parks! We went to Magic Kingdom. We went straight to the Peter Pan ride, then Winnie the Pooh where the ride broke down so some cast members had to come lead us off the ride (kind of a cool experience - we even got an extra fastpass!), Big Thunder Moutain Railroad, then Splash Moutnain (Dad sat out of this one), then got some dole whips (pineapple and vanilla soft ice cream swirl dessert) which were really good, then used fastpasses at Pirates of the Caribbean. After that, Dad, Jacob and Olivia left while me, Mom, Sophia, and Auntie Deena went to use our fastpasses on Winnie the Pooh but it wasn’t working again so we used them on Under the Sea. On the way out, Mom bought me and Sophia some Mickey Mouse ears! I got sparkly Minnie Mouse ones, and Sophia got rose gold, sparkly Minnie Mouse ones.
We got home later and had a light lunch before relaxing by the pool. Later, me, Jacob and Auntie Deena went for a walk.
In the evening, we went for supper, and then to the outlets. I got a new pair of shorts.
Breakfast: At the house - toast with jam, orange juice
Lunch: At the house - leftover pizza from last night, strawberries, root beer
Supper: On the Border - tacos, mexican rice, coke

Orlando, Florida (2018): Day Seven
Today we went to Epcot. We went straight to Soarin’ which had been in the middle of renovation last time we were here, so it was a lot of new scenery on that ride. Then we went straight to Test Track where we got in the single-riders line so we could wait 5 minutes instead of the 50 minute wait for the regular stand-by entrance! After that, we went to the Frozen ride which used to be the Norway ride; we all got wet but Olivia got soaked and wasn’t very happy about that (Dad made her sit in the wet spot so he didn’t have to). Then, we went back to Test Track to go through the single-rider line again (20 minutes instead of 5 minutes but still better than the stand-by), then used fastpasses on the Finding Nemo ride, then the Living with the Land ride (me, Mom and Jacob went on that while Dad, Sophia and Olivia went to get drinks from Starbucks. We didn’t think we’d be on the ride before they got back, so we rode without them and then they rode without us), and finally, used our fastpasses on Spaceship Earth.
We picked up lunch on our way home from Disney, and then relaxed by the pool all afternoon. Dad and Jacob went to pick up Auntie Deena from the airport just before supper, and then we all went out for a late supper.
In the evening, Dad and Jacob went to Target and had a hard time finding ponchos. Eventually, they got some and made it back home.
We’re expecting this next week to be busier because it’s Spring Break; hopefully the lines aren’t too bad at Disney!
Breakfast: At the house - leftover buns from Cracker Barrel (a little stale), orange juice
Lunch: Chick-Fil-A (at the house) - chicken burger, root beer, chips
Supper: Giordano’s - deep dish pizza, pepsi

Orlando, Florida (2018): Day Six
Today was a bit of a different day. Church friends of ours are also vacationing in Florida, so they came and spent the day with us. My family slept in in the morning, and then they came around noon. Dad, Jacob, Olivia, and the son and dad from their family went to an MLB Spring Training game, while me, Sophia, Mom and the mom from their family stayed at the house, visiting.
In the late afternoon, Sophia and I went for a walk to take pictures, partially for my photography class and partially for memories. We took a walk on a nature path in our resort area, and near the end crossed paths with a woman who asked if we had seen any bears. Me and Sophia had forgotten that there have been lots of bears in the area recently, and probably wouldn’t have walked that path if we had remembered.
In the evening, both families went out for supper together. Then, Dad, Sophia, Jacob and I went to Target to pick up a few groceries, including Aloe lotion for Olivia’s painful sunburn she got at the game. We came back to house and ate some ice cream sundaes made by Dad.
Breakfast: At the house - leftover donut from Krispy Kreme, leftover bun from Dad and Jacob’s supper at Texas Roadhouse last night, orange juice
Lunch: Jimmy John’s (at the house) - Slim 1 (ham and cheese sub), chips, root beer
Supper: Texas Roadhouse - steak, fries, caesar salas, buns, coke

Orlando, Florida (2018): Day Five
Today we went to Magic Kingdom. We took the monorail in, and went straight to the Seven Dwarves Mine ride where we waited about half an hour to get on. I didn’t resllt think it was worth it because it’s so similar to Big Thunder Mountain Railraod, just with a more popular story to go along with it. Jacob put his Vikings hat in the pouch in front of his seat and forgot it there; we’re hoping it will be at the Lost and Found when we go to Magic Kingdom again next week.
After the Seven Dwarves Mine, we went to the Winnie the Pooh ride, followed by the Little Mermaid ride (“Under the Sea” - ridden for a second time without Dad, using our fast passes), Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (a 45 minute wait), and then fast passes for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. After the last ride, Dad and Jacob left to go mini golfing and out for lunch.
Mom, Sophia, Olivia and I got two Mickey’s Soft Pretzels and a diet coke to share and ate it on the train that goes all the way around Magic Kingdom, then went on Splash Mountian (using our ponchos and fastpasses). After that, we went on the train again towards Tomorrowland where we got off to see if we could ride on the Peoplemover. There was a bit of line when we got there, and only half an hour before our scheduled lunch at the castle, so we didn’t go on and just walked to the castle.
We ate lunch at the castle, then watched the flag ceremony at Main Street, USA with Dad and Jacob. Then we went back to the house to rest. Dad and Jacob went out for supper but the rest of us were still full from lunch, so we were picked up later to go to the outlets, then pick up Krispy Kreme, then go back to the house to watch HGTV before bed (a regular end-of-the-day routine).

Lunch: Cinderella’s Royal Table - chicken nuggets, corn, mashed potatoes, coke, chocolate cake
Supper: none
Orlando, Florida (2018): Day Four
Today was our first day at the parks. We went to Hollywood Studios (my favourite). Dad, Sophia, Olivia and I went straight to Tower of Terror and almost walked right on (we were on the second elevator). Then we went to Rock ‘N Rollercoaster. We ended up riding Tower of Terror four times (i could’ve gone 5 (Jacob didn’t want to go so we did a child swap) but I was feeling a bit dizzy after so many times), and Rock ‘N Rollercoaster 3 times! Mom and Jacob were separate from us at the beginning but joined up with us later. We also had some Disney Revels.
In the afternoon, we picked up lunch and then came back to the house. Again it was too chilly to swim, so we watched TV and some napped.
In the evening, we went out for supper and then came back to the house where Dad made us ice cream sundaes again for night snack.
Breakfast: At the house - two pieces of toast with jam, scrambled eggs, orange juice
Lunch: Chick-Fil-A (at the house) - chicken burger, diet pepsi (in a cute mini bottle), licorice, oranges
Supper: Cracker Barrel - pancakes, over-hard eggs, sausage, water

Orlando, Florida (2018): Day Three
Today was a relaxing day around the house. We slept in and just hung around the house all day. It was too chilly to go swimming but Olivia and Jacob still jumped in.
In the evening we went out for supper, and then the outlets. I got two new pairs of shorts, two new shirts and a $5 pajama shirt (5XL for extra comfort).
Dad made us ice cream sundaes when we got back to the house, we watched some HGTV, and then went to bed.
Breakfast: At the house - leftover donut from Krispy Kreme
Lunch: At the house - snacks (banana, oranges, and some chips)
Supper: Buffalo Wild Wings - sweet bbq wings, french fries, root beer, chips

Orlando, Florida (2018): Day Two
Today we woke up at 7:30 AM for a long travel day. We ate breakfast at the hotel in Fargo, and then left for the 3 hour drive to Minneapolis, picking up drinks from Caribou Coffee on the way (I had a caramel cooler).
In Minneapolis, we quickly stopped at the Letterman store to buy hoodies for me (light maroon), Sophia (bright pink) and Olivia (blue), then checked into the hotel there so we could park there while we are in Florida. Mom bought us lunch while we checked in.
From there, we took a shuttle to the airport where we boarded our 3 PM flight to Orlando. (Side note: the guy working at customs at the airport was really funny). The flight was supposed to be 3 hours but there was some bad weather so it turned out to be 20 monies extra. I slept soundly the first hour, off and on the second hour, and then was awake the third hour. We sat in twos (me and Sophia, Mom and Olivia, and Dad and Jacob). The guy sitting beside me and Sophia didn’t talk to us.
After landing, we got our luggage, our rented vehicle (a silver minivan) and drove to Chili’s for supper. Then we picked up Krispy Kreme and went to the house (it looks so nice!). We unpacked, ate our donuts, and are now relaxing in our beds.
Breakfast: At the hotel - bagel, bacon, water
Lunch: Jimmy John’s (at the airport) - Slim 1 (ham and cheese sub), Coke bottle
Supper: Chili’s - four mini burgers, mashed potatoes, chips, coke

Orlando, Florida (2018): Day One
Trip travelled with: my parents, my siblings, and my dad’s sister
Today we went to church in the morning and then left for Fargo around 3:30 PM. It was a 3 hour drive with hardly a wait at the border.
Once we arrived, we checked in to the hotel (Comfort Inn and Suites), and went out for supper, then picked up blizzards from Dairy Queen and came back to the hotel to relax.
Breakfast: At home - two pieces of buttered toast
Lunch: Subway (at home) - 6 inch ham and cheese sub, two cookies
Supper: Paradiso - taco, coke, rice
