Today we did our first ever “open and shut down the park”!! Not everyone participated, it was only me, Sophia, Mom and Auntie Deena. But it was such a great experience! We did this at Epcot. First, we went straight to Soarin’ (this is always my least favourite part of the day - speed walking super fast to the first ride in order to get on before everyone else), then Living with the Land, then the single-rider line at Test Track (a longer wait than last time - 40 min), then used our fastpasses at Finding Nemo (this is where Olivia realized she left her phone at the picture area in Test Track, so Dad and her went back to get it after Finding Nemo), then used our fastpasses at Spaceship Earth (except the fastpass line took about half an hour, this is where my feet started to hurt), and then Dad, Olivia and Jacob left the park.
Mom, Auntie Deena, Sophia and I spent the rest of the day together. We first went across the World Showcase river on a boat to get to the American pavilion to get turkey legs for lunch (they were resllt good, but I’ve had my share of turkey for a loooong time now). It started raining so we ate them inside a dining area. Then, we went to the World Showplace Events Pavillion to watch AFV top two videos of the year, and to vote on which one was the best (the winning family will win a vacation to Disney) and got free t-shirts there. Then, we walked around the World Showcase. We watched a show in Canada, the Voices of Liberty in America (I tried talking to one of the singers after but I couldn’t think of what to say so it ended up being a bit awkward), a show in France where a guy balanced on chairs, had slushies in Africa, and rode the Donald Duck fiesta ride in Mexico. Throughout the day we took a lot of pictures, and played “1,2,3, He’s Yours” amongst ourselves. We also waited in a 75 minute line for Soarin’ again.
In the evening, Dad, Olivia and Jacob joined us to watch the fireworks. We got good seats at a table in Africa. I was so thankful because my feet had been hurting badly all day. I think I’ll be wearing runners tomorrow! We got Mickey Pretzels for “supper”, and some drinks from Starbucks.
Walking out of the park, some guys around me and Sophia’s ages, were sitting together and one of them said to us “hey, I just wanted to say you guys look beautiful, and I hope you have a wonderful night”. I responded with “hey, you too!”. I thought I should write that because it was a nice way to end the day.
I went to Target with Dad when we got home, and then we had ice cream sundaes while watching HGTV before bed.
Breakfast: At the house - toast with jam, orange juice
Lunch: Fife and Drum (at Disney) - turkey leg, coke
Supper: A food cart at Disney - Mickey pretzel, coke
